Canon SLR and WFT-E2 II A Wireless Transmitters

The Canon announced the capability to simultaneously shoot 10 connected digital SLR (higher-end models) with the latest wireless photo transfer accessories last January 7, 2010.

The WFT-E2 II A gadget, which is the wireless file transfer device mounted to the SLR camera bodies, is available for this quarter for the EOS-1D Mark IV but currently available for the EOS 7D. This transmitter costs $700, it provides an options to connect devices to the cameras and to link them to the outer world through network.

Another feature is the Camera Linking, this lets up to 10 cameras take identical shot. This allows to capture the same moment from diverse perspectives.

This latest transmitter can be used also with Canon's BU-30 Bluetooth unit, a USB device, which allows bluetooth-enabled GPS devices connect as well.

And the last feature of this transmitter is that it has the capability to connect to networks with the 802.11a wi-fi standard.
